I always like to carry a few dollars in cash, usually +/- $100. Most of the time, I can go 2-3 weeks before I need to refresh. Sometimes longer. And, when Jean & I go on trips, I increase that amount. You never know when you might have an emergency. But, what would happen if there was no more cash? Or what would happen if the credit/debit cards stopped working? Forget considering the religious overtones concerning a cashless society for now but just how would we operate? The attached article, “Should We Move Mostly to a Cashless Society” presents both sides of the argument. I’m not quite sure how I would react so I would be interested in getting your thoughts. Please let me know what you think and email your response, firstname.lastname@example.org.
It doesn’t matter who I talk with these days that doesn’t think the stock market is way overpriced and due for a drop. Just like night follows day, there are plenty of opinions all over the press. And yet, here it is setting new all-time highs nearly every week. The article, “What We Know About Financial Bubbles” provides a great overview about “bubbles”. And, of course, always please remember the trading strategy we are using for our equity clients is designed to over-preform rising markets by about 7%+/- while under-performing declining markets. And, while it’s not guaranteed, should the markets crash fast and suddenly, this strategy is designed to recover most, if not all, the losses.
It’s hard to believe but here we are, right in the middle of flu season. Once again, we find pros and cons to this topic. I can only tell you that about 11 years ago I got the flu and it was a humdinger of the flu. Since that time, I have made it a point to get the shot. As the article says, only about 47% of the American population decided to get the shot. Hope the article helps you make your decision.
Boy, the weeks just fly by. Here we are in the 3rd week of October and it won’t be long before the holidays hit. As I have mentioned, Mrs. Kim Effler is joining our staff and I will be focusing on introducing her toward the end of this month. I will be coordinating that announcement with the reintroduction of our web page, theliberatedinvestor.com. So please look for some exciting news in the coming weeks. In the meantime, wake up tomorrow and make it a great day.
