Every day that we wake up is an unprecedented time.  Some days nothing earth shattering occurs, other days the bottom falls out and our lives change.  We’re living through the second of those two days.  Yes, we are truly living in unprecedented times.

I have spent a lot of time researching this week’s email.   Read lots of newsletters from trusted sources.  And read lots of articles, some positive and some negative from the various talking heads and investment gurus.  The real issue is that we just don’t know what we’re facing.  But I do know that, when we come out of this, and we will come out of this, our lives will be changed.  We can’t control the events as they unfold, the only thing we can control is how we respond.

As far as the equity markets are concerned, believe it or not, for the week the Dow Jones Industrial average was up 13% and the S&P 500 stock index was a +10%.  Congress has passed and the President has signed the stimulus package.  There’s lots to unpack in this legislation and I will defer to another week to see how items in the bill can help us with our investments and our lives.

Just know that I remain constant in my belief that, through innovation, medical research and economic help, we will get through this.  So that is why I chose the article attached.  We all might want to drill down into our everyday finances, schedules and habits and take time to think about what we would like life to be like when we wake up one morning and nothing earth shattering happens.  I hope you take the time to read it.

As always, should you have any questions or wish to talk, just email or call so we can schedule something.
