When I was in college, one of the required courses to graduate was a class titled Communications I & II. It was a 2-semester requirement and I continued with the same professor for both semesters. One sector of the class spent time on the topic of “How the news industry creates the news”. We learned about the axiom in the news industry and that is, “If it bleeds, it leads”. To quote one paragraph from the attached article,
“It’s easy to succumb to the fear of the crowd when everywhere you turn there is negative news. The hard part is to keep your head when everyone else around you starts going into panic mode”.
As I said in Monday’s email, the free markets here in the US and other markets across the planet will come up with an antidote and/or vaccine. I really hope you take the time to read the attached article, “Despite the Fear-Mongering, we will overcome the Coronavirus”. The author offers a positive take on how all this might work out. I also encourage you to click on the link at the end of the article to get a picture of just what is going on to combat this virus.
In the meantime, my thoughts are to continue practicing healthy hygiene habits and common sense while going about your day. And, as always, please call should you have any questions or just want to discuss what’s happening in this sometimes-crazy world we in which we live.
